Engr Oluseyi Makinde And The Re-birth of The Moribund Oyo State Housing Corporation

The new  beauty of the independent square at Old Bodija and the newly renovated Housing Corporation building will explain better the innovations brought into the housing corporation and her businesses by the present administration.

Two years ago His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde commissioned the board of Oyo State housing corporation under the leadership of Barr. Bayo Lawal, the former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Oyo State during the Government of former Governor, Late Alhaji Lam Adesina.

Barrister Bayo Lawal, a man full of energy with local and International experiences and his board met a moribund corporation that had been abandoned for so many years, majority of the corporation’s businesses, investments and housing estates were in terrible shape and unattractive to local and foreign investors.

Within two years of his appointment as the chairman of the board and with the support of the Executive Governor of the State,he has achieved so much to mention but a few.

The moribund Agbowo shopping complex has been given to investors to renovate and rebrand to International Standard.

Many Housing Estates are under construction by developers engaged by the corporation. The two old quarters are now developing to Modern housing Estates  and will soon be ready for market.

Omituntun phase 1 and 2 in Ajoda Estate is another massive initiative of the present board with the intention of creating modern low and high income houses for the good people of the State. The corporation is working day and night to put the two estate in a right shape for the public use by  constructing good road network, industrial borehole water system and other social amenities to make the estates look attractive and serene for prospective buyers.

Barrister Bayo Lawal recently told Journalists in the State that the corporation is working to develop five housing estates across the three Senatorial districts in the State.

His leadership has changed the old mode of operations in the   Corporation, the  staff are well trained and motivated to face new challenges so as to improve their output and generate more revenue to State curffers and the corporation at Large.

The visitors to the  newly renovated Housing Corporation building will testify to the development under the Chairman of the Corporation, The “Bamofin of Kishiland”,  Barrister Bayo Lawal with the support of His Excellency the Governor of Oyo State Engr Oluseyi Makinde.

Recently, the Managing Director of Wema Bank PLC visited the Corporation and praised the State Governor and the Board of the Corporation for a job weldone and the wonderful initiative to change the face of housing business in the State and  country at Large.
