Mouthpiece NGR can report that the newly inaugurated governing council members on Wednesday stepped in for the first official inauguration meeting at the school senate building.

This is coming 144 hours after the visitor, Governor Seyi Makinde asked the Vice Chancellor to “step aside” through a memo from the office of the state commissioner on education, Barrister Olasukanmi Lasun.

The council members were welcomed with ovations led by the alumni global president, Hon Onilede Solomon.

Professor Remi Aworemi, Dr Azeem Ige, among others were also sighted by our correspondent.

Governor Makinde had last month appointed a former chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU), University of Ibadan branch, Professor Ayodeji Omole, as the Pro-Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

The governor equally appointed other members of the University’s Governing Council, including Professor Lanre Olaniyan, Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu, Hon. Adekunle Bankole and Mr. Adeosun Olukunle Idowu.
