Ogbomoso South West LCDA boss distributes over 21,000 notebooks to pupils
The Caretaker Chairman, Ogbomoso South West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Amusan Damilare has distributed over 21,000 notebooks to pupils across schools to help parents and guardians who might find it difficult to afford it especially during this hard time.
Mouthpiece NGR reports that the distribution was flagged off today, Monday at Ijeru Baptists Primary School 1 and 11 Ogbomoso.
At the event, over 2,000 notebooks were distributed such that students from different schools received 5 copies each. The pupils were in a joyous mood as they received the free notebooks from the chairman.
Three students representative in each school across Ogbomoso South West LCDA which include The Apostolic Primary School 1, 2, 3, Olopemarun, were also among the beneficiaries.
Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR, Engr Amusan Damilare said it is essential to play a role in reducing the burden on parents and guardians to complement the effort of his Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde in making education totally free for all.
Damilare hinted that today’s Program is a flagged off of distribution of exercise book. He said the book will be distributed to all schools in ogbomoso South West Local Government.
The Chairman recalled that this administration is not relenting on good governance as his office through the help of Governor Makinde has constructed school fence for Olopemarun school 11 and 111.
Damilare further said that the council have done boreholes with overhead tanks and generator to power it.
“We have also done bridge along dominion school, Fatai Buhari street. Another one constructed at Aworawo street including the one at Police barrack and at JK Atanda layout behind liberation church”.
“We have done empowerment for youth, widows and women where by sewing machines, dryers, clippers, coolers, generator set among others were given to people to alleviate poverty.”
The chairman concluded by thanking Governor Makinde for the opportunity given to him to serve just as he extolled the virtues of Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi for being a good leader.
Those present at the event include Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi Representative, Comrade Remi Adediran, former Chairman Ogbomoso South LG, Hon. Felix Akande, Current party Chairman, Apostle Olamoyegun Moses, women leader, Mrs Toyin Olawumi, and Hon. Akano Taiwo.
Others are Comrade Remi Adediran, Ogbomoso South PDP Secretary, Mr Falade, Head of LGUBEA, NUT Chairman and Secretary, the Chairperson AOPSHON, among others.
