Makinde unveils operational vehicles, Motorcycles for Amotekun corps

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Tuesday commissioned not less than 396 motorcycles and 33 operational Vehicles for Amotekun Operation in Oyo State.

This was done at the Oyo State House of Assembly Car Park on Tuesday to support the operation of the Western Security Network of Oyo State, also known as Amotekun.

While opening the event, the Chairman Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Ajiboola Toogun, eulogised the Oyo State Government for carefully organising the corps and not putting in place a fire brigade squad. He therefore pleaded with the corps and the people to cooperate and work efficiently for Amotekun to succeed.

 Commissioning the security cars and vehicles, Governor Seyi Makinde said “I’m very very proud of Amotekun, they have been working very well since establishment”

He further said it is important to secure the people of Oyo State and restructure the country. He also thanked the Chairmen of the Local Government and LCDAs for making Amotekun a reality. He also charged the corps to keep the good work up, and assured them that their welfare will be taken care of.

In appreciation, Commandant Amotekun Corps of Oyo State, Rtd.Col. Olayinka Ayoola expressed his sincere gratitude and cooperation of the Oyo State Government for always coming to their aids. He identified that the Operational vehicles and motorcycles will aid the corps in discharging their works effectively. He also thank the members of Oyo State Government for support the corps since establishment.
