BREAKING: Abducted Oyo LCDA Chairman, Driver regain freedom

The abducted Caretaker chairman of Iganna local council development area of Oyo State, Comrade Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke, and his driver have regained freedom.

Their freedom came 6 days after they were abducted.

A council boss, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed their release.

Mouthpiece NGR had earlier this week reported how the council chairmanman and his driver were kidnapped on Sunday night along Okeho-Ado Awaye on their way to Ibadan for a meeting scheduled with Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday.

Though details of their release were still sketchy as at press time, understands that the abductors had reached out to families of the victims, demanding N200 million ransom.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the development to our correspondent on Saturday morning.

He said, ”They have been released and they have reunited with their families. They were freed on Friday night.”
