LAUTECH Professor commends Oyetola, Makinde on workers’ welfare, Others

A Professor at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, Remi Aworemi has lauded the efforts of Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and his Oyo State counterpart, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde in prioritising the welfare of the workforce in the two states. 

The LAUTECH don in a statement to all workers both skilled and unskilled in the public and private sectors to mark the annual Workers’ Day celebration, also urged government to honor Frontline Health Workers with National Awards. 

He issued the statement on Friday in his May-Day message released to Mouthpiece NGR at his Dominion Villa, country home in Ola, Osun State. 

Aworemi noted that although the prevailing lockdown of activities around the world occasioned by the novel Coronavirus Disease may not allow for elaborate celebration of the Workers’ Day, the workforce which is the engine room of development in every country deserves public commendation and support. 

He particularly gave a salute to all Healthcare workers who are at the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 and urged government at all levels to, in addition to the hazard allowance, honour them with Awards of Excellence Service to the nation.

Professor Aworemi who is also the Vice Chairperson of ASUU, LAUTECH Chapter while commending the Governors of Oyo and Osun States for their support to LAUTECH since their assumption of offices, also appealed to the Governors not to relent in giving the school Management under the dynamic leadership of Professor M.O. Ologunde all the required moral and financial support so as to reposition the school and returned it back to its glorious days as the Best State University in Nigeria.

He concluded by offering prayers for all workers who have sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation by praying to Almighty God to grant them eternal rest and protect their families.
