COVID-19: Ogunbiyi facilitates English language clinic for students
As coronavirus pandemic ravages the world, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has deepened his social services and intervention programs in Osun State.
In what many have applauded and tagged as a lofty idea, the PDP stalwart in partnership with Rave FM put up “English language clinic” for secondary school students across the state, especially the SS3 students, in addition to the relief materials earlier distributed by his foundation.
Speaking on the gesture, Kunle Omolere, the Head of Strategy, Idera De Movement Thursday said that Dr Akin Ogunbiyi commended spirited Nigerians for standing up for the masses and for proactively taking measures to cushion the effect of stay at home orders of the government on the people.
He added, “God is with us. By his grace, we will outlive this pandemic. In the meantime, we must do everything possible to support Nigerians and the good people of Osun to withstand long periods of self-isolation and lockdown.”
“It is, therefore, necessary for the privileged to provide palliatives to arrest hunger, keep hopes alive and get people busy meaningfully.”
“The English language clinic is one of our responses to the pandemic and its resultant lockdown; it is an alternative teaching model via electromagnetic spectrum. “
“It will be aired on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It is hoped that the program will keep the targeted audience especially the students stimulated during this trying moment and beyond.”
