Oyo Rep, Captain Jacob distributes truck of fertilizers, awards scholarship to 100 students (photos)

The Honorable representing Ogbomoso North, South and Orire federal constituency, Captain Ajao Jacob, has offered scholarships to 100 students from his constituency to study various courses at the Offa College of Education, Mouthpiece NGR reports. 
Speaking at the launching of his first scholarship empowerment program at Akala’s party secretariat in Taki on Thursday, the lawmaker explained that he decided to offer the award to ensure that students from his constituency are assisted to excel in life. 
He said: “No student should be allowed to drop out of school on the account of the inability of his parents to fund his or her education.”
Ajao, who some described as the “Young Oyato man” of Former Governor Alao Akala said “Education is key to social and economic development, hence our decision to sponsor the students to further their studies.
The lawmaker announced that he had paid for the 100 student school fees from 100 level to year of graduation, adding that other students would be sponsored soon for another package of scholarship. 
“Plans were also in the pipeline to extend the sponsorship to more indigenes, especially those who qualify but lack the sponsorship, in order to empower them.
Captain Ajao advised the students to concentrate on their studies and exhibit good conduct while in Offa. 
At the event, the lawmaker also distributed truck of fertilizers worth millions to farmers across the 5-local governments in Ogbomoso. 
A gesture which many lauded as first of its kind in Ogbomoso was equally described as a good step in the right direction by the wife of former governor of Oyo state, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala. 
Mrs Kemi Alao Akala noted that “Captain Jacob is the right choice for the people for considering the interest of his constituency. 
She said before the Honorable was elected, he’s known for his philanthropic gesture. Now, In his six month in office, he has performed beyond expectation. 

I believe the lawmaker will sincerely represent the interest of the entire people of his constituency and deliver on good governance, “she said. 
Ajao who was extremely excited about the large turnout of people reiterated that Alao Akala has visited him in Abuja more than 10 times seeking how to improve the welfare of the people of ogbomoso. 
“Akala is the brain behind my success and I have no regret having him as my leader. This empowerment scheme is just a tip of an ice berg as many still on the way.” 

There’s no party again in ogbomoso. The only party we have is Alao Akala. Do we have to be killing our selves, he asked? 
“If Ogbomosho stand firm and united, Ogbomosho will produce the next governor as the second highest population with land marks in Oyo state. 
The lawmaker said he had secured a nod with an oversea company to settle in Ogbomoso to enhance production of POP materials. 
He said that the company will sponsor all farmers in the town to produce crops that will be useful for the production of POP materials, others. 
Appreciating everyone, the personal assistant to the lawmaker, Mr Biola listed the achievements of his boss within six months in office as follows; 
  1. Construction of  bridge 
  2. Distribution of three transformers each to Ogbomoso North, South and Orire. 
  3. Over 27 students have been employed for federal jobs through Captain 
  4. Empowerment for Widows and handicaps 
  5. CBT training center and equipment distribution 
  6. Ongoing construction of schools in Nurudeen.
  7. NNPC and Navy slot
  8. Som shortlisted in federal character, in civil service and other agencies. 
  9. Ongoing plans for Maternity home in Orire, etc. 
Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR, NAVY beneficiaries thanked the lawmaker for his financial support all through to the final stage their names was shortlisted.
