Quillox Chairman, Shina Peller Pleads With Governor Makinde

Member of the House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Honourable Shina Abiola Peller, has appealed to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, to rescue his constituents from erosion. 

The legislator in a working visit to the governor on Friday, said his people are confronted with life- threatening ecological challenges at the moment. 
Peller who handed over a comprehensive report of the environmental challenges prevalent in Kajola local government which led to the demise of Mr. Amusa Mukaila and Mrs. Fausat Sulaimon on the 22nd of June 2019, urged Governor Makinde to urgently address the menace of erosion, which is often caused by poor drainage infrastructure on roads in his constituency.
Governor Makinde in his response expressed his heartfelt condolences to Hon. Peller on the loss of lives and properties of his people. 

He assured the honorable he will intervene urgently in his capacity as the state Chief Executive to address the problem and prevent further loss of lives and properties in the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency and Oyo State at large.

Mouthpiece NG gathered that the Governor’s disposition to the report presented was very positive for the subsequent updates on social media informing the people of Oyo State of the visit while promising to do something urgently to address the problem.

The governor in his words on Instagram and Facebook pages;

“I was pleased to meet with Honourable Shina Peller, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, who visited me today to submit a report on flooding/erosion in Kajola LGA, which claimed lives and destroyed properties.
“I assured him I would look into the report and take appropriate action. As I have always said, we were elected to serve our people, and we should ensure that partisan politics does not trump our duty to always act in the best interest of our people.”
