BREAKING: Buhari Not Aware of Prisons Boss Tenure Extension 

Indications has emerged that the office of the presidency is not aware of the recent tenure extension of the prisons chief, Ahmed Jafaaru. 

Mouthpiece NG recall the Ministry of Interior spokesman, Mohammed Manga, in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, had said Ja’afaru, whose tenure was to end on July 21, was recommended for the extension due to “his track record of innovative reforms in the Prisons Service.”
The statement further added that the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board has promoted 10 officers from the rank of Assistant Controllers and Commandants to the rank of Deputy Controllers/Commandants and Comptrollers-General across its four services.
Sources within the camp of presidency, has however denied the purported extension of the controller general. 
An insider within the camp of presidency who confided in Mouthpiece NG described the extension as Kangaroo, adding that the extension was made by the Ex minister of interior and permernent secretary without the approval of presidency. 
He said the announcement ought to be made by the president assistant on media, Garba Shehu. Not the spokesman of the ministry. 
“The Ex minister of interior and permanent secretary of interior ministry connived together to approve kangaroo extension of Controller General on Nigerian prison service in order to sabotage the effort of president buhari government on corruption crusade that is well known for.”
He accused the Ex minister and permanent sectary of their involvement in corruption. 
A member of the prisons service who spoke with Mouthpiece NG on the development explained that Jafaru connived with others due to mismanaged of 1billion Naira of (prison cooperative) prisco money. 
He said that the presidency has strongly denied the tenure extension by president buhari. 
Buratai and others were giving 6months, why giving prison a year to loot the department, “he quipped. 
The source also made reference to Fire Services controller general kangaroo extension at interior ministry last year which was later reversed by the presidency. 
He said “It has becomes usual of the ministry of interior to give extension to controller general without the permission of presidency. The ministry is full of corrupt act, “he added. 
Some members of the prisons service across the state are challenging the office of the presidency for extending the tenure of the embattled controller general, Mr Ahmed Jafaaru who’s battling with several allegations of embezzlement and Age falsification.   
The Controller was facing accusation for falsifying his age in the service records in order to extend his retirement age. 
“Ja’afaru was supposed to retire in July 2017, until sometimes in 2015, shortly before his appointment as CGP, he altered his date of birth from July 1957 to July 1959, in clear breach of the public service rules and regulations.”
“The record in the NPS nominal roll showed that Ja’afaru altered his date of birth from July 21, 1957, to July 21, 1959, thereby extending his retirement age by two years. His profile published in the 2010 edition of Advanced Command Course II booklet also confirmed July 21, 1957, as his original date of birth before it secretly altered.”
Tongues were also wagging among members of the NPS cooperative society over alleged embezzlement and  diversion of N563, 500, 000 million naira in Edo state prison. 
The members were calling on the Comptroller General, Jafaru Ahmed, the anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, as well as police to quickly investigate the massive looting.
