JUST IN: Lawmakers impeaches Speaker, Chief Whip, Others
The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Hon Isah Idris has been impeached by 20 out of 30 legislators.
Hon Idris Garba Kareka has been elected as the new Speaker.
The Speaker was impeached on Thursday in an emergency meeting at the Assembly Complex.
Also impeached were Majority leader, Sank Isiyaku as well as Chief Whip, Aminu Sule Sankara.
