“Defaulters Owing Close To N1b”, LAUTECH Staff Reveals As students Reacts Over No tuition, No Exams Policy photos)

Some students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) were on Monday, denied attempting exam paper as the school commences its exams for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.
They were not allowed to sit for exams following the New policy of the school management, “No tuition, No Exams”

A development which has continued to generate mixed reactions among students, ever since the announcement of the policy by the school management, was on Monday a reality when defaulters across the various departments were sent out of the examination hall.
The defaulters were not allowed to write the exams upon several appeal while some according to reports, who attempted to lure their way in were caught and abruptly dealt with.
Mouthpiece NG gathered that the school management took the boldly step to enforce the students to pay as majority of them deliberately decided not to pay the money.
It was also learnt that the school is making all efforts to stabilize the school    and to avoid any form of agitation which may affect the school academic calendar.
Following the development yesterday, some students have taken to social media to condemn the policy of the school management while making blame and sympathizing with those prevented from writing their exams.
A student of the institution who introduced her self as, Agboola Ayodele Gloria wrote:

As a 500lv student from the noble department of Crop Production and Soil Science,I went to the examination hall yesterday with so many questions but the most important one was “After spending more than 6 years in LAUTECH, will the school management really deny 500lv students from writing their exams based on the policy of ” No tuition,No exam”?
Oh Yes, I got my answers right at the examination centre. “They were sent out after so many pleas”.
Later on, I looked through the window and I saw some wandering around, some were making countless phone calls just to make ends meet, some with tears in their eyes while some gave up already believing that missing an exam in 500lv means an automatic extra year
I saw great Ambassadors of tomorrow feeling dejected and heart broken,I saw young champs weeping and cursing themselves…
At a point, I couldn’t control my feelings too and I had no choice than to sit back and think of what could be done to avert this but going back to the memory lane, I thought “If the SRC have not had a kangaroo sitting to suspend the President and PRO which made the management thought of suspending the Union. We won’t be in the mess we are today. And yes, No thanks to Mr Speaker.
One thing is certain, LSUG executives won’t fold arms and watch things go south as the CARETAKER COMMITTEE are currently doing and infact, has always been doing.
Something must have been done before the commencement of the examination If only the President is still in authority, she said.
Another student who’s simply identified as Bollutech also wrote;
There is no other word to tell the students of this citadel that what we are facing now is the consequences of not having a voice to voice for the voiceless.
Whenever your mission is to harm others, remember that karma is never sleeping.
A few weeks ago, the Union was suspended by some set of unknown SRC’s who said to have held a kangaroo meeting in a bid to remove the President and the PRO of the union without any tangible reasons but in return, it hunts them down and we are all suffering from the action they took.
Remember, any University Students Union that is been deprived of its a constitutional right, the followers (students) suffer it all.
These set of SRC’s planned to put one if the executive to rule the union 24hrs after the president was suspended but it’s a slap on their faces as all the executive has to be suspended which led our union to the present state of dilemma and its present logy state.
The union is helpless, the students are suffering there’s no one to voice for the students, we are physically and emotionally crippled through the “No Tuitions, No Exam” policy which deprived some students in writing their exams and some that won’t still write theirs.
Automatically, some 500level students will have to rewrite the unwritten exam another year which directly or indirectly ringing “an extra year”.
They put the students behind their bellies and put their pocket forward to enrich themselves which makes them not to think of the “if and if not” but claim to be saints.
Who is the Messiah that will save and voice for us, he asked.
Meanwhile some students had blamed the immediate executives for the suspension of the Union. The students in “separate reactions” were saying that the greediness and wrong step taken by the president and other executives during the 2019 just concluded election led to the suspension of the Union.
Reacting on the step taken by the school management, a staff of the institution who wish to be anonymous said “the policy is to enforce the students to pay”.
He said: as at Thursday, the students who didn’t pay their school fees were owing up to 1bn. Just about 30, 000 or 50,000 would make the money complete N1bn.
He stressed by saying that majority of them have the money but didnt just want to pay.
Another staff added that “about 20 people paid their school fees last week when they were threatened with test.”
The school only took the step to enforce the students to pay their school fees, ‘he said.
