BREAKING: “I Am Wiser Now”, Says Ambode As He Visit Buhari
Outgoing Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, said on Monday that he had grown politically, having spent four years in office.
Speaking with state house correspondents on his “thank you visit” to President Muhammad Buhari for inaugurating some projects in the state, Ambode said politicians learn everyday.
However, when asked the lesson he has learned as a politician in Lagos and in a very unpredictable terrain as Nigeria, the governor said: “You see, every politician learns every day. The fact that I came in as a technocrat, I use it to call myself and techno-politician but I think I am wiser now. I am more of a politician than a technocrat. ”
Ambode While Responding On What To Be Remembered For After Bowling Out Of Office In Two Weeks, said: “Well, in another 16 days or so we will be leaving office but what’s important is that it was able to be elected as governor of Lagos State and touch humanity in a way that I deem it fit.
“We did our best and most important projects we had were people friendly and people central. I just think and lot more people have enjoyed the benefits and dividends of democracy than we actually met. And that gives me joy that we were able to touch lives.
“Wherever you find yourself a positive difference to the Nigerians, that’s the whole essence of service. I’m grateful that I had that opportunity. ”
