ODETOMI: A Right Candidate Who Contested Under Wrong Platform- Adebowale

I have watched critically and systematically, I have been a keen observer of the just concluded general elections and particularly the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23. The outcome of the elections was so embarrassing and shocking. Our people only voted for money.
Aside the low turnouts of our people to vote for ADC candidate for Ogbomoso North, South, Orire, some also traded their future on a plate of jollof rice.
I couldn’t comprehend why a grassroot politician who performed excellently well while as the chairman for Ogbomoso south local government for con

secutive times couldn’t garner more votes. I kept wondering why our people failed to vote for credibility.

Hon. Odetomi is expected not to have stressed much because his precedent speaks volume high. It’s an understatement to say he has never never failed us right from time. In fact, he still one of the best chairman, my Local government has ever had.
Yes, we believe in his aspirations, we know he’s capable and competent to represent us. But why is he forsaken, why is he been deprived of been elected despite this huge success story. I latter realized that he hasn’t achieved his dream because he’s using a ‘WRONG’ platform for a ‘RIGHT’ position, Nigeria political setting is based on two party system.
Seyi Makinde for instance, He was allegedly accused of being a novice in a politics, he tried his luck in 2015 under SDP but unfortunately for him he couldn’t secure a fourth position. In 2019, he got a massive vote from the same set of people that accused him and currently he’s a Governor-elect under PDP. Why? because he used a ‘RIGHT’ platform for a ‘RIGHT’ position.
Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin too is a grassroots politician who was one time ‘Super for works’, in Ogbomoso south local government, he tried to the best of his ability to delivered and now his precedent has spoken for him, He won against the famous Akala anointed candidate in the just concluded Gubernatorial and state house of Assembly election as Member, Representing Ogbomoso south. He won because his people loved him couple with the fact that he used a ‘RIGHT’ platform for a ‘RIGHT’ position.
Therefore, I want to seize this medium to tell Hon. Remi Odetomi that we love him and we equally appreciated his unforgettable contributions while he was the chairman of my local government. I know he can do better if given the mandate and want to remind him that he’s the best candidate for the position he vied for in the just concluded election but he got it wrong with the platform he used.
I want to urge him to be watchful of political party to use in the subsequent election as that will help him a long way to achieve his political aspirations. In Nigeria political setting, you can’t just win an election because it is based on two party system.
