TRENDING: Ajimobi’s aides, Chairmen rushed to hospital for alleged food poisoning

According to report, some of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s aides and council chairmen were said to have been hospitalised over alleged food poisoning.

MouthpieceNG learnt that the incident happened after they were served drinks and snacks at the inauguration of excavators purchased by the Oyo state government on Friday, March 22.
It was gathered that the food was prepared by a Lagos based caterer who works with the state government.
A number of guests who were invited to the inauguration of excavators purchased by the Oyo state government on Friday, March 22, are said to be receiving treatment after being served with food made available at the occasion.
Those affected are government officials, royal fathers and Samuel Eegunjobi, the running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, The Nation reports.
Others are aides to the Oyo state governor Abiola Ajimobi, council chairmen and party supporters who were also present at the event.
Another aide to Ajimobi was said to have been rushed to a hospital a day after eating the same food.
Moreover, some dignitaries who were at the occasion, have been hospitalised for alleged food poisoning.
One of them, speaking to newsmen, said: “I saw hell shortly after eating. I visited the toilet more than 15 times ‎and vomited about six times between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
“I was later admitted at a hospital where I was given some pints of drips. My survival is by the special grace of God.”
Added to this, a council chairman from the Oke-Ogun zone of the state, revealed that he began reacting to the food by having a slight running stomach, believing it was only a minor issue, not until he stated vomiting and visiting the toilet frequently.

MouthpieceNG recalls that Seyi Makinde, the Oyo state governor-elect, has said he was determined to review all contracts including the alleged N30 billion contract that was awarded in two weeks by the outgoing government of Abiola Ajimobi.
He said he would closely examine the hurriedly awarded contract when he officially comes into government on Wednesday, May 29, Vanguard reports. Makinde said this in a statement released by his director on media, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
Meanwhile, a source who spoke with the the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Bolaji Tunji said that he didn’t know where the story of food poisoning emanated from.
“I don’t know where the story of food poisoning is coming from. There is no official report of food poisoning yet,” he said.
“We actually had the inauguration of 33 excavators, but being hospitalised due to the snacks is strange to me. If people had health challenges, we should not attribute it to what happened there unless we have people who checked whatever was consumed in terms of analysis and say it came from the particular edible,” he said adding that “But as am talking to you, nothing like that has happened.”
