Oyo PDP Spits Fire Over Last Minutes Withdrawal From The State Treasury By Ajimobi, APC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Oyo State Chapter, has described the last minutes withdrawals from the State treasury, awards of suspicious contracts, loans, overdrafts and massive employments in the civil service without respect for laid down rules of engagement as a breach of public trust and  orchestrated to create problems for the incoming PDP administration of the Governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde.

In a statement made available to journalists yesterday in Ibadan by the Oyo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, he berated Gov Ajimobi led APC government for putting unbearable pressures on financial institutions and banks to grant frivolous overdrafts, loans and other instruments immediately Engr Seyi Makinde emerged as the Governor-elect.
Olatunji cautioned civil servants in the state to always keep records of transactions and avoid unholy alliance with politicians who have no carrier and names to protect. He therefore enjoins them to be vigilant, protect files, documents and information at their disposal in their own interests as anything contrary is against their oath of office and the laws which they swore to uphold.
He further warned financial institutions not to put their business at risk as the administration will not honor dubious and nontransparent transactions coming up towards the end of the outgoing APC government.
The Governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde, had on Monday, March 18, 2019, accused the outgoing government of emptying Oyo treasury and also awarding N4.950b for special projects. 
Makinde spoke about the plans of the outgoing government to cripple his administration by ensuring that all monies in government coffers, both strategic and from Stabilisation Accounts are spent in the next couple of weeks to stall the smooth takeoff of the incoming administration.
The statement which was signed by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, quoted Engr Makinde as saying that “he is aware of questionable special projects for which N2.475m have been hurriedly released for each of the 33 local governments and similar amount released to the oyo state Road Maintenance Agency, OSTROMA for the same purpose totalling four billion, nine hundred and fifty million naira.
