Oyo 2019: APC, Fatai Buhari Planning To Rig Election, BLMO Alleges

The Bayo Lawal Media organization says it has uncovered alleged plans by the All Progressives Congress and its senatorial candidate, Fatai Buhari, to rig the February 16 election.

The group said a part of the plan to subvert the will of the people”, was the recent intelligent report that there’s a working relationship between the ruling party and INEC to rig the Oyo North senatorial election in the state through the help of DSS.
In a statement signed by its Director of media and publicity, Oyedeji Ahmed, LMP, the BLMO said the APC rigging plot also involved spending huge amount of money on police personnel and election officials in the senatorial district.
It said, “With the obvious rejection of APC in the Oyo North senatorial district, the party has resorted to inducing electorates and forcing them to make an oath; after realising that the people of Oke- Ogun and Ogbomoso are tired of their brawn leadership.
The leaders of APC had been working on this plan for a while and had consciously been deploying all tactics in order to rig the February 16 election.
The group alleged that APC was also working on infiltrating INEC by embedding its supporters among ad-hoc electoral officials as part of its rigging plan.
“Our confidence in Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain unbias umpire is in doubt in conducting free and fear election.
The group consequently advised the commission to be cautious in its approach and distance itself away from anything that will affect our democracy.
“We want to place Nigerians and international observers on notice that they should be at alert and not allow APC elements at all levels to subvert the will of the electorate.
“There is also a need for the election management body to properly scrutinise ad-hoc staff to be recruited for election duty as well as pay more than a passing attention to its officials in the run- up to the February 16 election,” it said.
