Oyo ADC Candidate, Akinloye Akande ( TRiPPLE ‘A’), Unveils 5- Manifesto, Vision And Service Contract For Ogbomosho South LG

The Oyo ADC house of assembly candidate, Hon. Akinloye Akande has unveiled his 5 points agenda for Ogbomoso south constituency. 

Preamble

We will all agree that we have a major challenge of conflict and disunity facing our land and indeed our Nation. As kinsmen and citizens, we must collectively resolve to drastically alter, modernize and move Ogbomosho forward. I, Akinloye Andrew Akande (Tripple ‘A’) have resolved that the task ahead of me is that of uniting our land and Prospering our people – not looking backward to the failed, ineffective representation and promises of the past.

I am ready to be your representative and I fully understand what this means. A representative’s job is to ensure that quality representation is guaranteed and our community works for every inhabitant of Ogbomosho and not just our kinsmen alone. As your representative, I hope to bring all our people together and build bridges between people across religious and party affiliations and harness the different viewpoints for the effective and overall development of Ogbomosho-land. I cannot do this without your support. It starts indeed with your acceptance of me as your son and then placing your vote for me.

This document, my 5-point manifesto, vision and service contract sets out my side of the bargain: the things I as your representative, want to do to redefine representation and make Ogbomosho a better place. I cannot however do this alone. Each one of you and I must work together to get our society back on the right track. You must join me in this quest to provide quality representation, by getting involved, taking responsibility, and working together as a team.

I believe that our Ogbomosho South and indeed the entire Ogbomosho land is in urgent need of a fundamental shift from what now obtains as it should no longer be business as usual. This, no doubt requires integrity, transparency and forthrightness, which are the ideal values I have held so dearly all through my work in the corporate world. I urge you to vote for me as your representative to the Oyo State House of Assembly comes, March 02, 2019.

 MY 5-POINT MANIFESTO, VISION AND SERVICE CONTRACT WITH THE OGBOMOSHO SOUTH PEOPLE

1. ENSURING QUALITY EDUCATION FOR OUR PEOPLE:

After food, shelter and clothing, the next absolutely most important thing for our people, our government and our future is education. This is the time to declare a much needed emergency and to engage with our people and stakeholders to convince them of the importance of education.

If elected to represent you at the State House of Assembly, I will work with the entire public primary and Secondary school within the constituency to address infrastructural deficiency in all the Schools. This will be carried out using the following approach:

• Develop a template for use by all the public schools (Primary/Secondary Schools) to launch endowment funds by way of invitation of Schools Old Boys & Girls and   contribute to the development of the Schools they once attended.

• Assist in materials and Equipments needs of the schools

• Gradually begin work with the LGA & members of the constituents, by way of partnership to build and equipped a Central Information Technology Centre for use during CBT exams

• Seek for a Partnerships amongst Friends etc to build a functional Vocational Training Centre (called center of Excellence) to address the need of experiential and vocational education within the constituents.

• Ensure a great proportion of Senior Secondary School pupils across the constituency get registered for WAEC, NECO, UTME, NDA and any other kind of Examinations that could improve their life.

• To make learning more meaningful and to assist the less privileged, if elected I will work out modalities for the distribution of School’s essential materials such as Exercise books, School Bags, School Sandals to mention a few.

• Training and Re-training of Teachers: organize yearly Teachers Conference on Education Quality Assurance and Entreprenural Education in batches to all Public School Teachers in Primary & Secondary Schools in the Constituency.

2. PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE BACK TO THE FARM SCHEME

Agriculture is seen not merely as a business but first as national security, as every environmental challenge around the world point to global food shortage.

If elected, I will help in conjunctions with the LGA to upscale whatever achievements have been recorded in the Agricultural sector amongst the following:

• Encourage back-to-the-farm scheme to make farming attractive to youths and provide them with modern tools and equipments. The idea is to bring back fully our culture where every family have farms near their urban dwelling and produce at least a small fraction of what they consume yearly.

• As a former Banker and also because of my connection across the divides, I will work with the leadership of the LGA, Constituency leaders, our traditional rulers and other well meaning prominent members to begin the establishment of Agricultural Microfinance Bank for quick access to Agricultural finance at nominal interest rate to improve on every area of farming. Already in discussion with BOA as regards agricultural financing for member of the constituency.

• Gradually work with the farmers and seek ways of transforming some raw farming products into finished products which will create some Agro-allied jobs for the benefit of the constituent’s youths.

• Work and assist the constituents to have access to seedlings, agrochemicals and fertilizer during every farming season.

3. ENSURING SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELL BEING FOR OUR PEOPLE

If elected I will work with the leadership of the LGA and ensure that the people of the constituency enjoy a fuller life by offering:

• Training access to sustainable hygiene and health education bi-annually and also educate them on the prevention to combat spread of diseases and other health risk, support always the training and development of public health workforce through invitation of various experts.

• Gradually begin the enlistment of older people to benefit in the NHIS scheme. This will be carried out gradually ward by ward until appreciable numbers of people are enrolled substantially. Already in discussion NHIS and Healthcare International on enrolment criteria. 

• Gradually, assist in the Improvement of health physical facilities in the constituency.

4. PROMOTION OF EXCELLENT & SUSTAINABLE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT.

Unemployment is by far the biggest issue in our country at the moment. The last official unemployment rate in Nigeria is 23.9%. This however, does not include youth unemployment which is estimated at around 70%.

The implication of a high unemployment rate are quiet obvious, chiefly crime. Unemployment also increases uncertainty where foreigners and indeed our citizens will not be encouraged to invest their own money in that economy. If elected to represent you, I will breach the problem of youth unemployment to better the constituent’s economy through the following:

• Embark on employability training, entrepreneurial and skills acquisition scheme for graduates along with helping them to source for job placement both within and outside the state – within the constituency office, an HR personnel will be employed for collation of CVs and work with Outsourcing company for recruitment of suitable members of the constituency.

• Help youth to provide opportunities to discover, develop and display their full potentials for the prosperity of the land through sporting activities. Interested youth will be assisted to sporting academy. Donates trophies (to be named after prominent Ogbomosho South Indigenes) and organize sporting competitions both at Primary, Secondary school and Club level.

• Yearly distribution of Empowerment materials to Youths.

• For the prosperity and advancement of the land, I will begin 15 years (called Vision 2033) career development plan for brilliant Youths within the constituency who will like to take a career in the Military & Paramilitary. They will be fielded into NA, NN, NAF, NPF and other paramilitary with a view to building Generals and future CEOs of these institutions.

5. PROMOTION OF INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIALIZATION

This is a critical vision and contract with members of the constituents as our efforts in this area will create more jobs for our youths. I will ensure the following amongst others:

•     Institution of 1-2billion NGN endowment funds over a period of 2 years to fund some critical infrastructural facilities and build sustainable industry within the constituency.

•     Further my discussions with the Bank of Industry to assist in the establishment of a SME for the production of Akara Egbe and Robo (notable Ogbomosho delicacy made from Beans and Melon respectively) for export to other country of the world. Already in discussion with Bank of Industry.

•      Undertake a major project, such as drilling of boreholes, installation of Transformers etc across all required wards.
