LAUTECH: If You think Suicide Is The Next Thing- Adediran Sunday

Last Night, a 400level Chemistry student from LAUTECH with the nickname LOSWADE talked about giving thanks to God no matter what and stop running ahead of yourself or complaining too much.

I resolved to buttress on what he said yesternight with this title “LOOK AT YOUR MATES”
Four words of a short sentence is laden with so much meaning,
so much pressure,
so much good push too,
So much awakeness and as well
so much Insult
“LOOK AT YOUR MATES”
Words that have pushed many to their early graves
Pushed many to crime and consequently to Prison
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from experience, that will be the fact that:
“In this Life nobody is really anybody’s Mate” like my Dad said it to me when I think I was the only one that failed Physics when I sat for my first WAEC.
Class mates aren’t necessarily Age mates
Age mates may not be Grace mates
Even among Grace mates, there are levels. if I am lying, ask “Jimsamtimmy” I’m sure he is a Student Pastor that knows so much of that.
PART OF MY STORY.
When it came to seeking for admission, I wrote O level 5times not having physics in all until the 6th times when I had a narrow escape of C6 within two years (you know the stress and so much hardwork that needed to be invested writing WAEC, NECO, NABTEB in a year and also the three exams in the second year when the first one I wrote never list me to pass ‘Physics’.
Some of you may have written more times or less.
I know someone that did Predegree/Basic program at Uniport twice, yes, you heard me right, (he got so depressed then that he nearly contemplated giving up all together) before he finally got admission to study Pharmacy the third time.
I know of a mate that entered University before some of our secondary school “class mates” but she died when she was in 300level, not writing this to disdain her death though, most of them entered before me, some never went at all, and some are doing greatly today.
I know of a lady that finished from OAU officially in the year 2015, Inducted the following year,
Had to wait for Internship space till 2017,
Didn’t Serve till 2018
You can Come to LAUTECH, Someone who is supposed to spend 5years for a course is spending 7-8years.
I even read about a former and two times SUG president in Lautech that spent if I am not mistaken 11 or 12 years in LAUTECH here, this is not a sub post!
MORALE
That’s just how this life is.
You can take off first and arrive last and can take off late and arrive first.
In life, arrival time is not always determined by departure time because difficulties or baulk may stand on your way
Nobody is your Mate.
You are the only Mate you have please!
They may get get admission before you or graduate before you,
Some may even get marry before you,
Get Jobs before you,
Have kids before you,
May seem to be making progress while you are at one stage of life or “still waiting for your SOR”
God has a Plan designed specifically for You different from others
Your time is not my time,
My time is not your time.
Their time is not your time.
When your time comes,
Nothing will be able to stop you.
You will not just catch up, but overtake.
I tell you!
Yes, everyone wants God to settle them early,
But your early should not be judged by the early of others,
When next you hear, “look at your mate” reply them with “I have no Mate”
