LAUTECH ASUU Strike: Latest Development Reveals

The Academic Staff Unions of Universities ( ASUU) of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso chapter will on Wednesday, 16 of January, 2019 hold its congress at the 250LTH.

MouththpieceNG reliably gathered that the Union members will be meeting on Wednesday to take a congressional decision on the ongoing ASUU strike.
A lecturer who wish to be anonymous told MouthpieceNG that, “Members of the Union have already been notified about the Congress. We look forward to Wednesday, “he said.
“Academic activities can only be performed by ASUU members.

LAUTECH has been in the eyes of the storm for quite a while. This is due to no other reason than the problem of chronic underfunding of the institution by the owner states of Oyo and Osun.
At a point, salaries could not be paid, the laboratories and workshops were ill-equipped for practicals in a science and technology university, simple drugs became unavailable in the university clinic, sporting activities became relegated to the background due to non-funding of the unit etc.
MouthpieceNG gathered that some state universities, such as, Kaduna State University KASU, Federal University of Agriculture Markurdi FUAM, Abia State University and Yobe State Universities have directed its students to resume.
