Oyo Iyaloja-General Visits Alaafin, Receives Royal Blessings
The Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo Nurudeen, on Saturday paid a royal visit to the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, where she received royal blessings for her new assignment.
The visit, which symbolised a return to her roots, came following her recent appointment approved by Governor Seyi Makinde alongside other market leaders.
The Alaafin warmly received Princess Abeo and expressed excitement over her appointment as Iyaloja-General, conveying confidence in her ability to discharge the responsibilities of the office.
In her remarks, Princess Abeo expressed profound appreciation to Governor Makinde and the Oyo State Government for finding her worthy, describing the appointment as a call to service.
She pledged to work towards the growth, welfare and collective interests of traders and market stakeholders across the state.
The Iyaloja-General further pledged to promote unity and peace within the market community by working closely with Iyalojas across local government areas and zones.
She stressed the importance of cooperation, mutual understanding and inclusive leadership in building a stronger market structure.
