Democracy Day: Dotun Sanusi Hails Security Agencies, Demands Release of Abducted Oriire Pupils, Teachers

Okanlomo Oodua and Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has commended security agencies for their role in safeguarding lives and called for the immediate release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire LGA, Oyo State.

In a Democracy Day statement, Sanusi congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, while saluting Nigerians on June 12.

He praised the commitment of security agencies across the country, saying their dedication remains crucial to sustaining democracy and national development.

Sanusi expressed concern over the abduction of school children and teachers in Oriire and urged the perpetrators to release the victims unharmed.

He also called on security operatives to intensify rescue efforts to ensure the safe return of all those in captivity, stressing that children and innocent citizens should not be subjected to such trauma.

The philanthropist sympathized with families who have lost loved ones to banditry and other crimes, praying for strength for them.

“As we commemorate Democracy Day, let us renew our collective commitment to peace, security, and the protection of human lives. A secure society is the foundation upon which meaningful development can thrive,” he said.

Sanusi reaffirmed his support for lawful efforts to restore peace and security in Oyo State and Nigeria.
