Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland congratulates new chief imam of Ilorin
The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, has congratulated Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki on his appointment as the new Chief Imam Fulani of Ilorin Emirate.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, the Aare Musulumi described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that the new Chief Imam’s impressive record of Islamic scholarship, leadership, and dedication to the propagation of Islam makes him eminently qualified for the revered position.
His Eminence commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, for overseeing a transparent and credible selection process that produced a scholar of Sheikh Bashir Dasuki’s pedigree and reputation.
The Aare Musulumi noted that the newly appointed Chief Imam comes from a distinguished lineage of Islamic scholars and has demonstrated exceptional commitment to Islamic education and community development through his various religious and academic engagements.
He expressed confidence that Sheikh Bashir Dasuki would bring wisdom, knowledge, and exemplary leadership to the office, while strengthening the spiritual growth and unity of the Muslim Ummah within the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
The Aare Musulumi prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Chief Imam good health, abundant wisdom, divine guidance, and a successful tenure as he undertakes the sacred responsibility of serving Islam and humanity.
He also urged Muslims across Ilorin Emirate and beyond to support the new Chief Imam with prayers and cooperation to enable him to discharge his duties effectively.
Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki, 42, was recently appointed by the Emir of Ilorin as the new Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate following a keenly contested selection process involving prominent Islamic scholars.
