Woman Begs Husband For Forgiveness After Revealing Two Of Three Children Are Not His
A woman from Adumang in the Ashanti Region, Ghana, Abena Ampomaa, has appealed to her husband, Shaibu Mohammed, popularly known as Chief, for forgiveness after revealing that two of the three children he raised in their 14-year marriage are allegedly not biologically his.
Abena made the revelation on a TV programme on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
During the programme, she admitted to extramarital relationships with two men which resulted in pregnancies while married to Chief.
According to her, one pregnancy occurred before their marriage, although she only discovered it after the wedding. She said the other resulted from a relationship she entered after marital misunderstandings and alleged lack of financial support from her husband.
“I came here this afternoon to beg my husband, Shaibu Mohammed, to forgive me my sins,” she said.
Abena said she concealed the children’s paternity for years out of fear, but could no longer keep the secret.
“I couldn’t keep it anymore, so despite my fear, I decided to tell him. When I finally confessed, he said he had heard me. He then asked why I hadn’t told him earlier, and I explained that I was afraid,” she recounted.
She disclosed that the two children in question are currently 14 and 11 years old.
Abena alleged that following her confession, Chief threatened to stop providing for the children and to prevent their biological fathers from offering support.
“My husband told me that he had taken care of the children for 12 years, so he would no longer provide for them for the next 12 years. He said I should also suffer by taking care of them myself,” she alleged.
She also claimed Chief threatened to harm anyone who attempted to support her, including the men identified as the children’s biological fathers.
Abena further alleged that her husband threatened her father, Mr Nyame, who reportedly died about two weeks before her appearance on the programme. She said she believed the threats were connected to her father’s illness and death, although no independent evidence was presented to establish a link.
“He said he wouldn’t allow anybody to help me and if any of the men I have children with comes into my life, he will kill him. He also said he would make my father fall sick. My father subsequently fell sick and died about two weeks ago. I know I have wronged him and I am sorry,” she said.
Overwhelmed, Abena made an emotional appeal: “Please, let all spirits, heaven and earth bear witness that I have wronged you. Please forgive me.”
Chief was contacted by telephone during the programme, where he expressed anger and accused his late father-in-law of helping conceal the children’s paternity.
He alleged that Mr Nyame, an SDA church leader, knew two of the children were not his but failed to inform him, and had changed the name he gave one of the children without his consent.
He also accused Abena’s parents of secretly receiving money from the children’s biological fathers.
Expressing resentment over years of deception, Chief said he had invoked spiritual curses against his wife’s family and would not withdraw them until compensated for resources spent raising the children.
He also threatened people who participated in his father-in-law’s burial.
“Where I have taken this issue to is too far, and anybody who buries your father will be the next person. I am deeply hurt after taking care of all three children. I don’t even know whether the last one is biologically mine. If I tell you that I have no hand in your father’s death, then that is not true,” he declared.
Chief insisted DNA tests must be conducted on all three children before any reconciliation, and said he would calculate total expenditure incurred in raising them and demand compensation.
“I want DNA tests conducted on all three children. After that, I will calculate all the expenses I have incurred in raising them and demand compensation before agreeing to settle this issue,” he stated.
He further warned that members of her family could die one after another if his demands were not met.
