FOSSU Electoral Committee Inaugurated to Oversee Upcoming Elections
The Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) has taken a significant step towards ensuring a democratic transition with the inauguration of its electoral committee.
This development follows the dissolution of the Executive Arm led by Comrade Alarape Ibraheem, as announced by the Senate Arm during the 14th FOSSU National Council meeting held at Ibarapa East Local Government Secretariat in Eruwa, Oyo State.
The electoral committee, comprising nine members, was constituted to oversee the forthcoming elections. Tiamiyu Olayinka Ibraheem has been appointed as the Chairman, while Ibraheem Rasaq Bolarinwa serves as the Secretary, and Olatunji Benjamin Olutunde as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).

While addressing newsmen, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Tiamiyu Olayinka Ibraheem, assured all Oyo State students of a level playing field, guaranteeing a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
He noted that the committee is dedicated to upholding the principles of transparency and accountability, ensuring that the electoral process reflects the will of the students.
The electoral committee however announced that elections to usher in new executives will be conducted in a couple of weeks, stressing that all eligible students are urged to participate and exercise their voting rights.
The 2025 FOSSU Electoral Committee is committed to ensuring a peaceful and democratic transition.
The committee’s PRO, Olatunji Benjamin Olutunde, and Secretary, Ibraheem Rasaw Bolarinwa, in a statement jointly signed, equally reiterated the committee’s dedication to transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process.
