Breaking: Fubara Holds Reconciliation Meeting with Rivers State Assembly Members
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has held a crucial meeting with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly as part of efforts to pave the way for a constitutional government in the state.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, focused on key issues, including the process for reinstatement, and other necessary issues aimed at advancing the state’s best interests*
This development comes after a period of political tension in the state, which was exacerbated by a power struggle between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the FCT Minister and an ally of President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that President Tinubu had suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, and all elected officials in March, and appointed a retired military chief, Ekwe Ibas, to oversee the state.
The meeting marks a significant step towards resolving the political impasse in Rivers State, which is a key player in Nigeria’s oil industry.
