Oyo Gov Commissions Newly Constructed Olodo Bridge Amidst Heavy Downpour

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commissioned the newly reconstructed Olodo bridge, a double-lane bridge that promises to improve the lives of residents and motorists.

The commissioning ceremony took place on Tuesday, despite heavy downpour, with the Governor represented by his Deputy, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal.

The construction of the 35.6km Iwo road – Olodo bank – Elesingodogbo–Odo-Oba (Oyo/Osun State boundary) is part of the current administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in the state.

Governor Makinde emphasized that the state will continue to prioritize projects with potential for economic expansion and development.

He expressed satisfaction with the project’s execution and implored residents, motorists, and users to maintain the bridge and activate a maintenance culture to ensure its longevity.

The Governor stated, “It is with fulfillment and joy that I welcome you to the event of today, which is a further demonstration of this administration’s commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to all parts of the state, regardless of political inclination, religious affiliation, or socio-economic group.”
