Ex-Comm. Afonja extends financial support to Oyo North PDP, party chairmen across 33 LGs

Professor Abdulrahman Raphael Afonja, former Commissioner for Works and Transportation in Oyo State, has demonstrated his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by making a whooping donation during its senatorial meeting.

Additionally, he generously gifted cash to the 33 party chairmen, showcasing his dedication to party welfare.

This was disclosed on Friday by his personal assistant, Mr Olayiwola Surajudeen in Ogbomoso.

However, in an interview with our correspondent, Afonja confirmed that this gesture is not an isolated incident, revealing that he has been extending financial support to party leaders and members, including chairmen, since his tenure as commissioner.

During his time in office, he would provide monthly financial support to each of the 33 party chairmen.

Afonja’s commitment to the party remains unwavering, even after leaving office.

He has consistently supported the party financially and logistically, including a notable donation prior to the local government election in Ogbomoso North.

He also provided significant support during the governorship election.

The former commissioner however praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, highlighting the party’s achievements in infrastructure development, particularly the construction of over 275 kilometers of roads.

Afonja expressed his continued support for the party’s activities, emphasizing the positive impact of PDP’s initiatives on the people of Oyo State.
