Best LEGACY College holds 15th convocation ceremony, matriculates 235 students

Best Legacy College of Education, Ogbomoso, a National Certificate in Education (NCE) and Degree awarding institution, held its annual combined Matriculation and Convocation ceremonies on Thursday, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports.

The event, which took place at the school premises, saw 220 students conferred with NCE certificates for the 2023/2024 academic session, while 235 new students were matriculated for the 2024/2025 session.

In his address, Provost Obajemu Victor Michael congratulated the graduates on their achievement and encouraged them to aim high. He also advised the newly admitted students to be disciplined, set goals, and shun cultism. The Provost noted that Best Legacy College of Education, founded in 2007, has graduated over 6,000 students since its inception.

Guest lecturer, Olaleru Olatunde Paul, delivered a motivational speech, urging both matriculating students and graduands to strive for excellence.

He advised freshmen to set clear goals, develop a growth mindset, and stay focused, while encouraging graduands to stay adaptable, develop resilience, and pursue continuous learning.

The Guest Lecturer said, “You’ve navigated late-night study sessions, early morning lectures, and countless challenges. You’ve balanced academics, tests, and exams, often juggling multiple responsibilities at once. You’ve faced self-doubt, pushed through exhaustion, and celebrated small victories. And firmly, here you stand, proud and accomplished.”

The school Director, Hon. Dr. John Abisoye Oke, commended the students, Management, and lecturers for their efforts in shaping minds and mentoring hearts. He also appreciated parents and guardians for their sacrifices, congratulating both freshmen and graduands on their academic pursuits.

Notably, Professor of Process Systems Engineering at LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, donated ₦50,000 to the overall Best Graduating Student, Aarinola Blessing, in addition to cash awards given to Best Graduating Students in various schools.

Additionally, cash award was also given to Best Graduating Student in school of sciences; Best Graduating Student in school of Arts and Social Sciences; Best Graduating Student in school of Languages; Best Graduating Student in school of Vocational and Technical Education, as well as Overall Best Graduating Students.
