As I stand before you today 24th of May 2025, marking one year since I had the honour of being elected as the Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the progress we have made together.
This past year has been characterized by our unwavering commitment to serving the good people of our local council area. With every initiative we have undertaken, I have prioritized the use of all available resources in good faith, ensuring that our community thrives and that each resident feels valued and heard.
From the onset of my administration, my focus has been on fostering equity and fairness, while driving development-oriented initiatives. We held a Stakeholders Consultative Meeting for the 2025 Budget in Oke Ogun Zone II, engaging various community members to ensure that our fiscal plans reflect the needs and aspirations of our people.
Furthermore, I convened meetings to enhance our security posture, working collaboratively with local security agencies to provide a safe environment for all residents. These actions highlight our commitment to inclusivity and transparency in governance.
Throughout the year, I have had the pleasure of engaging with various community groups and stakeholders. Notably, I hosted the NYSC State Coordinator and received the Youth’s Agency LIPWs Team, reinforcing our commitment to youth empowerment and development.
Additionally, I took part in celebratory events with various churches and Muslim gatherings, acknowledging their positive impact on our community. These interactions have not only strengthened our relationships but have also paved the way for future collaborations that will benefit Oorelope Local Government.
Recognizing the contributions of our dedicated council staff has been a priority for me. I have expressed my appreciation through various initiatives, including the distribution of palliatives to support them in their roles. I believe that acknowledging hard work fosters a motivated workforce, which ultimately enhances our ability to serve the community effectively.
Moreover, I am proud to report that Oorelope emerged as a top performer on World Food Day, showcasing our commitment to food security and community health.
As we continue to address pressing issues, I have actively engaged in initiatives aimed at improving our local infrastructure and health services.
From inspecting road conditions to assuring timely delivery of projects, my administration has emphasized the importance of reliable infrastructure.
We have also launched campaigns for immunization and health awareness, ensuring that our residents have access to vital health services. These efforts demonstrate our dedication to improving the quality of life for all citizens of Oorelope.
As I reflect on the successes of the past year, I am inspired by the resilience and spirit of our community. Together, we have made significant strides, but our journey is far from over.
I promise my continued commitment to serving the good people of Oorelope Local Government with all available resources and in good faith. Let us move forward together, embracing unity in diversity, ensuring that every voice is heard, and working diligently towards a brighter future for all.
