We have no involvement in delay of Areago road construction— Ogbomoso North Chairman cautions Olamiju Akala’s media aides
Following a controversy that erupted in Ogbomoso North Local Government over the grading of Areago Road, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. George Ogunlade,, has denied allegations that his office delayed the construction of Areago Road.
This comes after House of Representatives member, Hon. Olamiju Alao Akala, had claimed that the local government council was responsible for the delay.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday, the chairman stated that the council had already approved the road for grading before federal government approval for taring.
He said: “The Areago road had already been approved for grading by the council after a request by the community before the federal representative member came in with approval to tare the road.”
The chairman added that the council under his leadership has never for once prevented Olamiju Akala from working on the road.
However, he urged the people of Areago to ask the lawmaker why the project was delayed or if he had already moved it to another local government of the federal constituency.
