Oyo Deputy Gov congratulates Yusuf Alli on historic turbaning as Kuliyah Ngeri of Ilorin
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State,Barr.Abdul Raheem Adebayo Lawal has congratulated Prof. Yusuff Olaolu Alli (SAN, on his historic turbaning as the first Kuliya Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate.
In a congratulatory message on Saturday, the Deputy Governor described the conferrment of the prestigious honour on the legal luminary, which translates to custodian of laws, as well deserved.
According to Barr.Lawal, the contribution of prof. Yusuff Alli to the development of law and legal profession in Nigeria eminently qualified him for the award.
He noted that the award coming from outside the home state of the recipient was a testimony to the fact that prof. Yusuff Alli was recognised all over the country.
Held at the palace of Emir of Ilorin, the Deputy Governor, who was represented at the occasion by his Special Assistant on Administration, Alhaji Sakariyau Kunle Sanni, expressed the hope that the conferrment would serve as a catalyst for further contribution to the legal profession.
He, however, expressed his delight to the Emir of Ilorin, Alh Sulu Gambari for finding the recipient worthy of the award.
The event was attended by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor, Members of the federal executive council, national assembly members, academics among others.
