Olatunji Lays Foundation for Construction of Amotekun Office in Oluyole
As part of ongoing efforts towards bolstering community security at the grassroots, the executive chairman of Oluyole local government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has laid the foundation for the construction of an Amotekun office in Oluyole Local Government Area.
The foundation laying took on Wednesday, April 15 at Liberty Academy School, located along Olugbemi Road, Taska.
Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun.
The project is an initiative of the Liberty Academy Association, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Bellingham Sikiru Ajibola.
According to the organizers, the establishment of the Amotekun office is targeted at enhancing local security in order to promote community policing, and deepening of collaboration between grassroots residents and security personnel.
The foundation-laying event drew a host of notable community leaders and stakeholders, including the Chairman of Okada Riders in Oyo State, Alhaji Omo Owo; Hon. Abiodun Gbolagade, a respected leader in the Oluyole community; the Councilor representing Ward 2, Hon. Dele Adeshina; and the Ward 2 PDP Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Olododo.
Members of the Liberty Academy Association were also present as part of showing their commitment and support for the security initiative.
Speaking at the event, Asiwaju Olatunji commended the Liberty Academy Association for their vision which he noted aligns with his vision for the safety of lives and properties of all grassroots dwellers.
He emphasized the importance of community-driven development and assured that his administration will continue to form strategic collaborations with individuals, private partners and governments at all levels to develop Oluyole LG.
“Security is everyone’s business, and it is heartwarming to see citizens taking proactive steps to protect their communities,” he said.
Olatunji said that the Amotekun office, once completed in the area, is expected to serve as a coordination center for local operations, intelligence gathering, and rapid response activities within Oluyole LG.
Meanwhile, Professor Abiodun Gbolagade, a chieftain of APC in the council, impressed by the gesture, also made financial donation to the community.
Present at the foundation laying event were the Chairman, Joint Security Committee of Ireakari Communities and environ, Alhaji Abiodun Baruwa, Alhaji Omoboriowo Akande; State Coordinator PMS Okada division, officials of the local government and PDP chieftains.
