Nigerian man bites off Malaysian police officer’s ear during arrest

A Nigerian man bit off part of a police officer’s ear during a struggle following his arrest at a clinic in Metro Prima, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The incident occurred around 10:03 am on Friday, April 25, 2025, according to Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa. Officers had responded to a distress call about a foreign national causing a disturbance at the clinic.

The 38-year-old suspect was apprehended by officers from the Kepong Police Station. A corporal was assigned to help transport him to the Sentul District Police Headquarters.

“While being escorted to the back seat of the patrol car with his hands cuffed behind his back, the suspect suddenly turned violent and bit the officer’s left ear, severing part of it,” Rusdi revealed in a statement.

The injured officer is currently receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident under Sections 325 and 353 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959.
