PHOTOS: Oyo Deputy Gov, Ladoja, others observe Eid-el-fitr prayer in Ibadan

Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, on Sunday, joined other Muslims across the globe to celebrate this year’s eid el-fitr which marks the end of the Holy month of Ramadan fast.
The Deputy Governor alongside other Muslim faithfuls in the state observed the two rakkat prayer at the Gate Eid praying ground.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Abubakr Agbotomokekere, who urged Muslim ummah to use the lessons learned in the holy month of Ramadan.
He stated that only good deeds will be accepted and rewarded by Allah while calling on muslims to continue in good deeds even after Ramadan.
Barr. Lawal, who led top government functionaries to the Eid prayer ground, was equally joined by the former Governor of Oyo state and His Royal Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, former Deputy Governor of Oyo state and PDP PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, and senator Sharafadeen Ali representing Oyo South senatorial district.
Others were ALGOS Chairman, Sikiru Sanda; Oyo Deputy Speaker, Abiodun Fadeyi; Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Dawud Akinola De-damak; Sheikh KK Oloso and host of others.
The stakeholders equally paid homage on Oyo Governor, Seyi Makinde, at his residence in Ikolaba where they were warmly hosted by the Governor and his wife, Tamunomini Makinde.
In his brief remarks, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Lawal commended the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for his excellent leadership, especially for his ability to make Oyo residents happy every month.
He equally commended the Governor for his administrative style and infrastructure development, which have kept Oyo peaceful and developing.
While expressing his gratitude, Governor Makinde noted that the current peace in Oyo state is as a result of the rapid and infrastructural development being enjoyed today by everyone.
He stated that Oyo has experienced a period of insecurity, but now the state is relatively peaceful as everyone is enjoying the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
“It is my prayer that Oyo state will never go back. And anything we ask for will happen if we have patience.
“When we are living peacefully, tomorrow will surely be better”, the Governor said.
