Bisi Oluranti felicitates women on Int’l Women’s Day, distributes cash gifts

Oyo lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Micheal, also known as BOOM, has called on governments at all levels to galvanise action plans to support breaking the bias and misconceptions against women, noting that women remains the pillars of our homes and communities.

She said this Saturday in commemoration of the 2025 International Women’s Day celebration, adding that this step will promote gender equality and ensure a sustainable tomorrow.

Speaking on this year theme “#AccelerateAction”, the lawmaker said it highlights the importance of amplifying efforts toward gender equality, empowerment, and inclusion.

She posited that Gender equality for women will serve in the interest of creating a more inclusive and gender-equal world.

The lawmaker, who equally supported women in her constituency with a cash gift, added that Women continue to be the backbone of our homes, communities, and economy because they exhibit resilience, leadership, and excellence in every area. 

She said: “This year’s Women’s Day is to honour all women who are spearheading and advocating for the path to a more sustainable future.

“Therefore, Nigerian girls and Women not to deter, but be focused for Better; Choose to Challenge; Press for Progress; be Bold for Change, and Pledge for Parity.

“On this special day, I am committed to supporting initiatives that will empower Women Economically, Create more opportunities for women in business, politics, and leadership.

“We are dedicated to Promoting Girl-Child Education, and make sure that every girl has access to quality education and skills for a brighter future.

Additionally, to promote improved healthcare, maternal support, and gender-sensitive policies in order to improve women’s health and well-being. 

“We must concentrate on creating a world where every woman and girl are can realize their full potential, even as I call on governments and individuals to support laws and initiatives that support women and promote an inconclusive society.”
