Again, Agboworin empowers over 50 youths with laptops in Ibadan

Oyo lawmaker, representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal constituency, Rep. Abass A. Adigun, has again empowered about sixty youths with ICT tools including a brand new laptop.

This is even as the lawmaker doled out a sum of two hundred thousand naira to support the participants.

During the presentation of the ICT tools on Friday, Hon. Agboworin reiterated his commitment to human capital development,,noting that the one-day training program is to create job for the youth. 

According to him, this program is designed to take away youth from poverty to prosperity and make them self independent. 

The lawmaker, who noted that empowerment are pillars of support to families, environment, community and societies, added that youths deserve to be supported by individuals and government towards reducing poverty and boosting their earning potentials.

Agboworin hinted that the empowerment program is not the first it’s kind since assuming office in 2019 and pledged to continue supporting his constituency’s development.

Noting that he is in politics to serve his people, the lawmaker reeled out some of his achievements in the last Six years in the areas of infrastructure including construction of schools and police stations, mobile clinic, empowerment, among others.

He, however, urged the recipients to make adequate use of the tools especially in the economic hardship to be self reliant rather than being a job seeker. 

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to MOUTHPIECE NGR after the program expressed their gratitude to Hon. Agboworin for his benevolent heart.

The beneficiaries said the lawmaker remained of the most performing House of reps member in Oyo state and urged other lawmakers to learn from him in giving back to their people.

They added that his efforts to promoting ICT education and skills development are a testament to his vision for a more empowered and connected global world.

Recall that Agboworin recently trained more than 150 young people in his constituency in ICT, more than 350 youths who were unemployed, 250 youths in phone repair, 200 youths and women in skill development and capacity building, and 300 youths in fashion design and hair styling, in addition to individuals with disabilities.

The event was attended by notable stakeholders including ICT experts, government functionaries and host of others.
