Oyo Deputy Gov attends NACOMYO Cordinator daughter’s wedding in Ibadan

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, on Sunday, attended the wedding fatiah of Firdaos Opeyemi Afolabi, daughter of the Secretary of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) in Oyo State, Alhaji Dawood Afolabi.

The ceremony, held at Elebu area in Ibadan, was graced by dignitaries and notable islamic clerics including the Chairman, Oyo State Muslim Community, Alhaji Kunle Sanni.

The solemnization of the marriage (Nikah) was supervised by Alhaji Kunle Sanni who offered prayers for the couple’s happiness and future.

During his sermon, Sheikh Sanni praised the newlyweds’ parents for raising their children properly to the point of marriage.

He noted that if the couple had not been properly trained, they might have ensured an unwed pregnancy.

He advised Mutiulah and Firdaos to know that there’s no perfect marriage, stating that marriage is full of endurance and patience.

Kunle Sanni however urged the couple to live with love and always let go of differences whenever issues arises, adding that there’s no point for anyone of them claiming right or wrong in marriage to ensure perfection.

He prayed Allah to put baraka in their marriage.

While presenting the marriage certificate to the couple, the Deputy Governor advised them to make a good house and coexist peacefully rather than disappointing the dignitaries who attended their wedding.

The bride father, Alhaji Afolabi, was moved to tears as he gave his daughter’s hands to her lover, Mutiulah Alabi Babatunde.

He conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Oyo Deputy Governor for honouring him by attending the wedding despite the short notice.

Similarly, the Muslim community equally described the Deputy Governor as a man of humility who has been advancing Islam in the state.
