Teachers Recruitment: Ogunlade lauds Gov. Makinde, urges employees to be dedicated to service
The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his bold move in approving the recruitment of new teachers through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
He gave the commendation in a statement made available to newsmen in Ogbomoso on Tuesday.
The chairman noted that the recruitment will ultimately improve education standards as well as reduce unemployment rate in the state.
He equally praised Governor Makinde’s visionary leadership, which according to him, has led to an unprecedented mass recruitment drive across all sectors.
In his words: “Since assuming office in May 2019, the Makinde administration has expanded Oyo State’s civil service, bringing the total number of employees close to 50,000. The government has also set a high standard by increasing workers’ salaries and upgrading the state’s infrastructure.
“So, I urge the new employees to be dedicated to service and also make meaningful contributions to the state’s development.”
