NAFC Oyo Chapter Advocates Against Gender Based Violence
The National Association of Female Comrades (NAFC), Oyo State Chapter, has strongly condemned all forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), emphasising the urgent need to eliminate violence against women.
The group, in a statement issued by the cordinator, Comrade Lateef Taiwo Sofiyah, on Wednesday, noted that every individual has the right to live free from fear, violence, and discrimination.
She asserts that GBV is a gross violation of human rights, and it’s our collective responsibility to challenge and eradicate the menace.
However, citing alarming statistics, Comrade Sofiyah voiced her deep concern over the global epidemic of violence against women.
While calling for a strong media campaign and awareness, Comrade Soyiyah stated that the increasing prevalence of gender-based violence against women and young girls represents a gross violation of human rights and undermines the very fabric of our society.
The statement reads: “National Association of Female Comrades (NAFC) Oyo State Chapter. Standing Together Against Gender-Based Violence.
“As NAFC Oyo, we are committed to:
- Raising awareness about GBV and its impact on individuals and society.
- Supporting survivors of GBV through counseling, advocacy, and empowerment programs.
