Jubilation As George Ogunlade Restores Electricity To Ogbomoso North LG Secretariat After Years Of Blackout

The people of Ogbomoso North Local Government as well as Staff of the Council Secretariat are still basking in the euphoria of restoration of electricity supply to the area by the Executive Chairman, Hon. George Ogunlade, after years of abandonment in blackout.

The electricity supply was restored yesterday, 25th November, 2024 following concerted efforts by the Executive Chairman of the Council, who completed the refurbishment of the power plant that supplies electricity to the community. 

Consequent upon the restoration of power voltage to the Council Secretariat and its environs, ecstatic LG Staff members trouped to the Chairman’s office in celebration as a show of appreciation for what they described as a giant stride geared towards grassroots development. 

According to the excited workers, the restoration of electricity to the council after many years of blackout remains a laudable milestone within a short period of taking over the reins of power in the the LG. 

The Head of Local Govt Administrative (HLGA) in Ogbomoso North, Mr. Thomas Oguntona, however expressed his heartfelt commendations for Hon. George Ogunlade led administration over his commitment to people’s welfare and grassroots development.

Mr. Oguntona equally described Hon. Ogunlade as exemplary leader worthy of emulation.

“Hon. George intervention has brought this project back to life, and it will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our community, and the entire LG Secretariat” she said.

In his brief remarks, Hon. George expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience of Ogbomoso North residents and local government staff for the long years of relying solely on other means of generating power voltage within the community.

He, therefore, re-affirms his commitment in bringing the dividends of democracy to the grassroot and described himself as a servant leader who is committed to the people of Ogbomosho North and its environment.

Speaking with MOUTHPIECE NGR shortly after the meeting with the LG staff, the council boss said, “This success belongs to every one.

“is a testament to what we can achieve when we work as a team towards the development of our local government.

“I can assure you that Ogbomoso North Local Government is fully keyed into the vision of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State in creating all the enablement to accelerate our sustainable economic agenda at the grassroots.”
