PHOTOS: Excitement as Oyo lawmaker, Bisi Oluranti set to empower students November 11
Member of Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ogbomoso North Constituency, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Micheal, has concluded plan to provide students with WAEC scholarships and other necessary educational materials, such as school bags and notebooks.
Hon. Bisi Oluranti, who disclosed this to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Monday, noted that the education of her constituents is very much important to her.
She revealed that she is embarking on the project of “Bisi Oluranti Students Empowerment”, to support academic excellence in her constituency.
The lawmaker further said that she had always been passionate about education and empowering people through knowledge for gainful employment and self-reliance.
In her words: “Every child deserved to be educated and not just education, but good education facilities, education should be taken seriously because it’s our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.
“Empowering the students and school management is a good initiative that we all need to take as a priority.
“Some of the scheduled benefits that our students and school management are going to receive are WAEC Scholarship, school bags, notebooks, school needs, among others.”
The lawmaker who disclosed that the empowerment program will come up on November 11th, 2024 at the Anglican Grammar School, Ogbomoso, added that the event will also feature debate competition among students.
Notable dignitaries expected at the program include Ogbomoso North LG Chairman, Hon. George Ogunlade; Comm. For Works and Transport, Prof Daud Sangodoyin; Elders Advisory Council to Oyo Governor, Dr. Saka Balogun; Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi; Comm. For Education, Science, Technology, Prof. Soliu Adelabu, UI don, Prof. Fatai Adeniyi and other leaders in Ogbomoso North Local Government.
