JUST IN: Victory for Damagum as court stops Bala Mohammed led faction from holding NEC meeting

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that a Federal High Court in Zamfara State has rejected a request for an ex parte order filed by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

The group sought permission to convene the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting amidst deepening internal crises within the PDP.

Justice Salim Ibrahim, presiding over the case, declined the request, which comes as part of a larger power struggle within the party. Mohammed’s faction has been at odds with some members of the PDP, particularly those supporting acting national chairman Amb. Umar Damagum.

The tension within the PDP escalated after several governors, led by Mohammed, pushed to remove Damagum from his position. This move has been fiercely opposed by loyalists of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. An earlier ruling from the Federal High Court in Abuja had already issued an order preventing Damagum’s removal.
