Olayiwola Attends AOPSHON Meeting, Promises Continued Support for Education in Irepo

The Executive Chairman of Irepo Local Government, Hon. Tunde Taoheed Olayiwola, on Wednesday, attended the Association of Primary School Head Teachers Of Nigeria (AOPSHON) meeting held in their hall at L.A Primary School, Agede Kishi. 

Alhaji W.A Gbodofu, the AOPSHON Chairman, expressed his appreciation to H.E. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor, his Deputy H.E. Barr Bayo Lawal, and the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abdulwaheed Soliu Adelabu, for their support for all teachers in Irepo. 

He equally thanked the Chairman for attending the meeting with all his cabinet members.

Mr. Ojo C.A., the AOPSHON Secretary, made several requisitions, including chalks and school registers, building infrastructure in village schools, exercise books for pupils, finishing the AOPSHON hall, employing Kishi indigenes as teachers, and recruiting qualified casual workers from the local government for various primary schools. 

Alhaji Ojo Abdulsalam Jimoh, Irepo SUBEB Secretary, praised the Chairman for his consistent support since assuming office, describing him as a man of the people. Mr. Hassan Ajibola Fatai, on behalf of Kishi NUT, requested roofing and finishing for the NUT Secretariat and motorcycles for village teachers to facilitate their transportation to schools.

The Chairman expressed his gratitude to the Oyo State Governor, H.E. Engr. Seyi Makinde, his Deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, and the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abdulwaheed Adelabu. He mentioned that this was his first official outing with his Supervisors and Special Assistants. He also thanked all Irepo teachers under AOPSHON and NUT for their support of the PDP during the last election. Addressing the issue of teacher shortages in Kishi, he noted that non-Kishi indigene teachers often transfer back to their hometowns, and he is working hard to address this issue.

He encouraged all teachers to be committed to their assignments to ensure the success of their pupils. In response to the requisitions, he promised to support the completion of the AOPSHON hall, he assured that the necessary actions would be taken.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sunday Olanipekun, Hon Rasaq Jelil Adewale, the Irepo LG Chief of Staff, all Supervisory Councillors, all Special Assistants, Dr. Olaniyan J.O, S.M.O Irepo SUBEB, Comr Adigun R.F, AOPSHON Deputy Chairperson, Alhaja Abiola T.B, Treasurer, Mrs. Ajayi D.O, Financial Secretary, Mrs. Shittu F.A, Assistant Secretary, and all other AOPSHON executives.
