SMATO Celebrates One Year in Office with Major Development Milestones in Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency
Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato the representative of Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Chairman of the House Committee on Friendship Group to Pakistan, and Deputy Chairman House Committee of Solid Minerals, has shared significant updates on the numerous development projects executed across the constituency.
The federal lawmaker reported that his administration has successfully provided over 10 boreholes and repaired more than 30 boreholes throughout the constituency, ensuring a steady supply of clean water. The notable Oko water supply project, which had been abandoned for many years, is now complete, providing reliable water access to the community.
In a move to bolster security, Hon. Makanjuola donated 1 million Naira towards the ongoing construction of a police station at Odo-Oba, aimed at enhancing safety and law enforcement in the area.
The Honourable Member distributed over 5,000 palliatives to adults and youth, addressing immediate needs and providing relief. He also launched a youth empowerment program benefiting over 120 individuals to support their entrepreneurial efforts. Women’s empowerment programs were also facilitated in Abuja.
Hon. Makanjuola highlighted the successful installation of over 20 solar street lights, significantly improving security and visibility. Additionally, the asphalt laying of roads in Oko Town has enhanced connectivity and infrastructure, easing transportation for residents.
The representative extended rural electrification in (6) communities and oversaw the donation and repair of transformers, ensuring a reliable power supply and improving the quality of life for residents.
He also announced that asphalt laying will soon begin in Arolu, with plans for similar projects from Ajaawa to Odo Oba, all in line with Governor Makinde’s infrastructural development agenda.
