Eid Kabir: Oyo Deputy Governor Preaches Tolerance, Self-Sacrifice 

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, has emphasized the virtues of tolerance and self-sacrifice during the Eid El Kabir celebrations and beyond. 

He urged Muslims and residents alike to reflect on these principles for the collective benefit of society. 

Lawal said this on Sunday while participating in Eid prayers at the Eid prayer ground, Agodi, Ibadan, alongside fellow Muslims and senior government officials.

The Deputy Governor encouraged everyone to use the occasion to contemplate on the greatness of Allah, emphasizing the significance of self-sacrifice and adherence to law and order.

He called on residents to refrain from harmful behaviors and highlighted the transformative potential Eid-el-Kabir  in fostering godliness, personal renewal, and tolerance towards others.

Lawal also underscored the importance of supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s initiatives for the prosperity of Oyo State and advocated for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, rejecting religious discord.

Following the prayers, Lawal led a delegation of top government officials to the Governor’s residence to pay Sallah homage where prayers were held for the governor and the State.

Despite the Governor’s absence, Barrister Lawal expressed gratitude for the support and prayers of all that had elevated the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and Oyo State’s standing, affirming his commitment to continue to support and work with the governor to further the State’s development.

He extended warm wishes to all for a joyous Eid El Kabir celebration.

Earlier during the Eid prayers, Sheik Abubakri Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, led supplications, expressing gratitude for another year and offering prayers for the Governor and the prosperity of Oyo State.

Accompanying Lawal were notable dignitaries including former deputy governors, government officials, and community leaders who joined in the celebrations and prayers for the well-being of their state and its leadership.
