Surulere: Our defection to PDP based on Gov. Makinde, Smato’s sterling performances, says APC defectors 

Defectors of All Progressives Congress (APC) into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Surulere local government have emphasized that their decision to dump their party was a result of the sterling performances of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Makanjuola Smato representing the Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency. 

Smato Media Team reports that scores who were members of All Progressives Congress on Wednesday were led into the Peoples Democratic Party by Hon. Moses Olaniyan from Oko ward, who is one of the founding members of PDP in Surulere Local Government 

The defectors, who noted that the most important interest to protect in politics is the people’s interest, said that their decision is attributed to the unique and Good Governance from the State Level to the grassroots. 

According to them, since the emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo has witnessed unprecedented development in all sectors. 

They added that they were also moved by the performances of the House of Representatives member, Hon. Smato whose representation within a few months has been felt by the constituents. 

Smato, who was represented by Hon. Okunlola Rahmon,  popularly known as Madeola alongside other members of the Smatomist team congratulated the defectors and charged all the existing members of the PDP in Surulere Local Government to accommodate the new members.

He said: “We have all become one indivisible family. So, let’s keep fostering unity and ensure we deliver our chairmanship candidates and councilors in the forthcoming election.”

Those present at the event were the PDP chairman of Surulere Local Government, Elder Adebayo Adeyeye, Hon. Gòkè Adebayo, Hon. Lasisi Aworinde, Hon. Mustapha Aro Rasaq, among others.
