Smato Congratulates Makinde On Best Gov Of The Year Award

The member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere federal constituency, Hon. Makanjuola Smato, has congratulated the governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, on the ‘Governor of the Year 2023’ award conferred on him by the management of the Leadership Newspaper.

The organization, on Tuesday, awarded the governor in Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, in recognition of his numerous contributions across all sectors and massive infrastructural development in the State.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen, Smato, who is the chairman House Committee on Friendship Group Pakistan and Deputy chairman of the House Committee of Solid Minerals at the Nigeria Green Chamber, stated that the award has once again validated the governor’s dedication to his promise and commitment to improving the lives of the people through infrastructure development.

“The works have not gone unnoticed,” he said, expressing his excitement that the Governor had been recognized for the many historic accomplishments he had made to the state in the last few years.

The lawmaker commended the governor for making Oyo state a model of good governance for others while also describing him as a true leader and man of the people whose integrity is tested and trusted.

The statement read: “His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, deserves this Leadership Newspaper Governor of the Year 2023 award, and I am quite elated and impressed to see it.

“This is indeed proof that you have not only revolutionized leadership and governance in our state but also elevated the state to the status of a shining example of good governance. Not a single advancement or contribution towards the state’s liberation has gone unrecognized.

“I believe the Leadership Newspaper’s management did a great job choosing you for this role, which will motivate you to work more. Like you say all the time: “More work is the reward for hard work.” As the state’s governor, I am aware that you remain committed to doing more for the people.
