PHOTOS: Irepo LG Boss, Oyetunji among 40 out of 774 LG Chairmen selected for MEXA award in Abuja
The chairman of Irepo local government, Hon. (Pastor) Joel Oyedokun Oyetunji has bagged 2023 Medals Excellence Award (MEXA) as the best performing Local Government Chairmen in Nigeria.
The award is in recognition of her leadership quality through service delivery and high sense of accountability.
While receiving the award at International Conference Centre, Abuja (FCT) on Thursday, Oyetunji commended the organizers of the MEXA award for finding him worthy of an excellent award.
He described the award as a significant one to him in view of the fact that the award will nudge him to further serve humanity and the good people of Irepo Local Government.
He said: “I am grateful to God to be among one of the awardees because out of 774 local government chairmen in Nigeria, it was only 40 of us that were selected for the award in recognition of our service.

“I am grateful to God that I was able to make tremendous achievements through several developmental projects within six months I assumed office as chairman of Irepo local government.”
Oyetunji who was in company of his wife however expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde, and his deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, as well as the god people of Irepo local government for the opportunity given to him to serve.
He assured that he will continue to embark on public-oriented projects in line with Governor Makinde’s vision to improve the lives of the good people of Irepo local government.
