VIDEO: “Wike, Go Abuja” As Protest Erupts In Rivers Over Fubara impeachment’s plot
Supporters of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara took to the streets on Monday, urging the FCT’s current minister, Nyesom Wike to return to Abuja in the wake of the Governor’s impeachment by the state assembly.
Recall that MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that Rivers House of Assembly has removed Ehie Edison (Ahoada East State Constituency II) as Majority leader. 24 out of 32 members of the Rivers Assembly are sitting in the auditorium following the fire outbreak yesterday.
This is amid rumours of ongoing impeachment plots against the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Reacting to the development, the embattled Rivers state Governor, Fubara said he has not committed any offence to warrant impeachment by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
“Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment,” the governor said while addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex.
The governor, who assured the people of the state of getting the dividends of democracy, said he would speak on the matter at the appropriate time.
“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press,” he said.
As at the time of filling this report, it’s no clear whether the impeachment process has been concluded by the House of Assembly.
